Where are the trees is an experiment trying to create a Tilt-Shift effect on Text using CSS3.

Once again text-shadow was my best friend. By adding a bigger offset-y and blur-radius to the top and bottom edge, the text appears to have a lens blur that is typical for tilt-shift effects. There is also some rotate, rotateX and skewX to make the text match the perspective of the background image.

Update: Good news for blur fans. CSS filters are coming and you can add blur to any DOM element.

This was in response to Idris Elba throwing his hat into the ring for James Bond.  And honestly, if Craig is out, there’s no other option.  It makes too much sense.

The best part is you knew this reaction was coming.  Nerdy dudes had enough trouble dealing with Craig as Bond.  Then Casino Royale came out and they realized they were being dumb.  They’ll realize that again.

I love that this guy (and anyone else who complains) probably didn’t have a problem with Bonds of different nationalities. But nope, black Bond just doesn’t compute for some people.

And I thought the “the 007 number/Bond name is given to different agents after the old ones retire” was a widely-subscribed theory. There is literally no reason Idris Elba shouldn’t be James Bond.

Idris Elba as 007?! YES, PLEASE! 

I’m a nerdy dude and I really support the idea of Idris Elba as James Bond. And yeah, I like Daniel Craig in that role, too.
